Backreamers

Once the pilot drilling has been made, the bore is widened as the drill is withdrawn. The backreamer is essential for determining how efficiently, safely and gently the product pipe is pulled in. It is important that the backreamer not only loosens the soil but also mixes or breaks it up, based on geological conditions.
We offer the following backreamers to suit specific geological conditions. Now also available in our hire fleet.

Type 1: Jet backreamer
• Area of application: Sand, marl, clay, loam
• Design: Open-blade design. Excellent cutting and mixing properties.
Jet-Räumer

Type 2: Kodiak backreamer
• Area of application: Heavily compacted soils, hard loam, gravel, crushed stone, and soft rock
• Design: The spiral and curved shape of the blades provides an aggressive cutting action. Fitted with welded teeth.
Kodiak-Räumer

Type 3: Rock Razor
• Area of application: solid rock, sandstone, limestone, etc. 90–150 MPa
• Design: Cutting surface fitted with interchangeable round-shank chisels.
Felsräumer

Type 4: Hole opener
